COLLINS FAMILY SECRET RECIPE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

These cookies are very sugary, which is just perfect for the Collins' side (which like to feed on straight sugar). The recipe is really simple and easy to remember, you'll see why . . . This recipe makes 1 dozen cookies, but you can easily double it and make more.
COLLINS FAMILY SECRET RECIPE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Cream shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla together in a bowl. Add in remaining ingredients, except chocolate chips, and mix until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Roll into 1-in balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown.
