2 sticks of butter (1 cup)
1 cup sugar
2 tbs water
1/4 tsp. salt
nuts
chocolate chips
Butter a 9" square pan. Spread with chopped nuts (we like walnuts, but pecans are good too.) Combine butter, sugar, water, and salt. Cook over high heat stirring constantly until mixture starts to burn and stick to the pan. Pour over nuts in pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Spread smooth as chips melt, and sprinkle with nore nuts (if desired). Cool and break into pieces.
